• Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which casino wagering is not legal. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime destination, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a few controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; however, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and though visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are methods around this, as is correct of many border crossings.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge casino, contains one hundred and fifty slots and sixty gaming tables. The Naga river boat is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of 150 slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the normal tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel complex that contains many amenities on top of the casino, which offers ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight tables.
